As UCA News reported on 4 May 2021, an e-book with the title "Exposing the Christian Agenda" has recently be published in Malaysia. Also, a slanderous video of Archbishop Julian Leow of Kuala Lumpur was published on Facebook, according to UCA News reporting on 4 May 2021. In the video, the archbishop was accused of following an alleged 25-year-plan to slowly boil away the Muslim majority. World Watch Research analyst Thomas Muller explains: "The e-book was originally published in paper form back in 2014 and simply repeats the old accusations that Christians have a hidden missionary agenda. According to this book, which was published under the auspices of the Selangor Islamic Religious Council, Christians should never be befriended because they are "˜enemies of Islam who always have malicious intentions and are the bearers of lies". The Christian church is portrayed as a highly cunning and organized movement. This was also the point being made in the doctored video of the archbishop, which was based on an address the archbishop gave to a Catholic congregation back in 2014, in which he encouraged religious minorities to increasingly use their rights. Although the video was immediately taken down by Facebook, it has continued to circulate (for instance, under the hashtag #BoiltheMuslims) and it will be interesting to see if the infamous sedition laws are applied against the authors. Complaints were filed with the police on 30 April." Thomas Muller concludes: "A pattern would seem to be emerging, and it is interesting to note the timing of these digital publications: First, they come just a few days after a Christian Member of Parliament was accused of Christianization (Malay Mail, 20 April 2021); secondly, they come at a time when the government (under participation of the Islamic PAS party) is coming under increasing pressure to lift the state of emergency and test its majority in the suspended parliament. Of course, there is no proof if these events are connected, but one thing is for sure: If PAS and other proponents of a more extreme Islamic ideology could have it their way, Christians and other religious minorities would be facing even more restrictions than at present."
