As reported by Morning Star news on 14 October 2021, two men have been charged with the murder of Pastor Musana who had been working in eastern Uganda as an evangelist. He was found murdered at a riverside on 12 September 2021. The suspects had been threatening him for his role in the conversion of 15 Muslims to the Christian faith. World Watch Research analyst Yonas Dembele comments: "Although Uganda is a majority Christian country, the bullying and harassment of Christians by the Muslim population in eastern parts of the country has been quite common. Particularly for converts, owning Christian materials or discussing Christian faith with family or community members has often led to expulsion, serious physical attacks and even killings. Since the beginning of 2021, many such violent incidents have been recorded. The government appears to be silent on what is happening and has not yet put in place any measures to address the violations of the religious freedom of Christians."
